Predicting 10 WrestleMania 31 Matches Six Months Out

8. Intercontinental Championship Match - Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

Given the rapidity with which WWE Creative has switched the Intercontinental Championship as of late, there is no chance Dolph Ziggler holds the title all the way to WrestleMania. With that said, he could easily regain the gold prior to the most important show of the year. When he rolls into the Bay Area for the biggest show of the calendar year, the unstoppable force awaiting him will be Bulgarian Brute, Rusev. Accompanied to the ring by Lana, the dominant foreigner has torn through every Superstar put in front of him, including former U.S. champion Zack Ryder. On multiple occasions. More impressive, however, is his growing list of wins over former heavyweight champions. Mark Henry and Jack Swagger fit that description and Big Show appears to be next to fall at the feet of the master of the Accolade. Ziggler would be a logical addition to Rusev's list. Not only is WWE's resident Showoff a former heavyweight champion, he is the best bet to give the freakish athlete his first really great match, and on the biggest stage the sports has to offer nonetheless. Ziggler is consistently one of the best workers on the roster and exactly the type of performer one would want to pair with Rusev to put him over. That he bumps around the ring with reckless abandon, selling the signature offense of his opponents as if he had taken a cannonball to the chest, would make Rusev look that much more impressive en route to his first singles championship.
