Outside of a disappointing Intercontinental Title main event, the 49-year-old Minoru Suzuki has had one of the finest years of his career in 2018, assembling utterly sublime battles with Hirooki Goto and Hiroshi Tanahashi as well as some thrilling tag battles alongside Suzuki-gun accomplice Zack Sabre Jnr.

No stranger to G1 danger, Suzuki's competed in seven of the events, retaining a place as a regular fixture when actually associated with the organisation. He finished fourth in his block last year just five points behind outright winner Kenny Omega. Can he build on a remarkable year with yet another remarkable showing?
