Continuing with the theme of experienced performers getting one last chance to shine in a WWE ring, how about Alundra Blayze? The former WWF Women's Champion last wrestled for the McMahons in 1995, shortly before she defected to WCW and threw the WWF Women's Championship in the bin.

Blayze was prominently featured at a time when Vince McMahon seemed unwilling to get behind women's wrestling. Blayze made the most of her rare opportunities however (save for a dire SummerSlam match with Bertha Faye), putting on classics against Bull Nakano in particular.

Blayze and WWE's relationship was rehabilitated over time, and Alundra was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015. Blayze actually retired in 2001 so speculating on a position in the Classic for her may well be entirely pointless. Still, it would be as nostalgic as it gets to see Blayze in a WWE ring again.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
