Predicting Every WWE Premium Live Event Main Event Until WrestleMania XL
1. WrestleMania XL Night Two - Roman Reigns Vs. Cody Rhodes Vs. Sami Zayn
Right now, this feels like the most authentic WrestleMania XL main event.
WWE has a petulance for earmarking an underdog into the headline spot of every tenth WrestleMania. Bret Hart dethroned Yokozuna at 'Mania X, having spent the past year working his way back to the top after succumbing to Yoko at the prior year's 'Mania. Chris Benoit followed suit at WrestleMania XX, defeating Shawn Michaels and Triple H for the latter's World Heavyweight title in a poignant moment that coincided with Eddie Guerrero's run as WWE Champion. Then, at WrestleMania XXX, Daniel Bryan repeated the feat, downing Batista and defending champion Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight title. Expect a similarly generational clash come WrestleMania XL.
Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn are unequivocally interlaced in Roman Reigns' ongoing arc, and they will be until either of them deposes him. It can only be one of these two; a Jey Uso win, for example, would only be nice in the moment. Jey doesn't hold the star power required to represent WWE 24/7. Whoever ends Roman's reign needs to immediately carry the company on their back. Rhodes can do that and arguably already is, with Zayn presumptively thriving in the role, too. Jey Uso would shudder at the expectations placed on him.
He's been unrivaled in this saga, but he's the penultimate Royal Rumble elimination in this scenario.
