Predicting Next 6 NXT Champions

3. Kassius Ohno

Kassius Ohno only recently returned to NXT, but he is another performer who seems continually plagued by the worst timing. Ohno's first stint in NXT was a disappointment to say the least. News of his return was greeted with immense enthusiasm - but he has already suffered a couple of losses in next to no time.

To make matters worse, no small amount of his thunder has been stolen by the returning Drew McIntyre. Ohno is objectively one of the best professional wrestlers on the planet, but timing does not seem to be one of his strongest suits. Whilst we are a long way from now or never, such circumstances may be coming sooner rather than later.

And 'now or never' is exactly the context in which Ohno should win his first NXT Championship. The developmental show is rather fond of its 'final shot' stories, but Ohno's may well work perfectly. It is an easy story to tell - Cole manages to defend the title against Ohno on a number of occasions, retaining only by nefarious means of course.

All of this leads to Ohno putting his NXT career on the line against Adam Cole's NXT Championship. Ohno would go on to win the championship and find himself draped in confetti, as the former Chris Hero finally receives a championship to match his abilities.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
