When WWE signed Mexican star Mistico and debuted him as Sin Cara several years ago, they believed they had found a successor to Rey Mysterio's crown as the Hispanic face of the company, rushing him onto the main roster without sending him to developmental first. This proved to be a huge mistake, as the Mexican failed to acclimatise to the American style and developed a reputation for not only be difficult to work with (refusing to learn English to communicate in the ring with his co-workers, for one), but also for the frequent botching of moves and injuring of his person. Now portrayed by the former Hunico (who debuted as an imposter Sin Cara and feuded with the Mistico version), the character is now nothing more than a joke. With Kalisto, known on the independent circuit as Samuray Del Sol, the company has opted to take a more patient approach, sending the high flier (who has an American background rather than a purely lucha libre one) to NXT to hone his skills. Though he has only competed in a handful of bouts so far, the Full Sail University crowd has quickly taken to the masked competitor and his visually impressive moveset, though it remains to be seen how they will react now that he has put into an uninspiring partnership (on paper) with Hunico's Sin Cara. The team may disband, allowing Kalisto to develop further as a singles performer before debuting on the main roster. Either way, it does seem as if he will be fast-tracked sooner rather than later, allowing the company to finally put their faith in a new Hispanic performer and let Rey Mysterio's take the retirement that his broken body it so desperately needs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVUR5kDi15s
