8. Eric Young

A few years ago, you likely would have predicted Eric Young would never gain employment in WWE. After spending a dozen years in TNA, it seemed he would ride out the rest of his career there. Then the company began having massive financial issues, and a lot of their long-time veterans were let go.

Young showed up in NXT in May of 2016, and then disappeared for a bit. When he re-emerged, he formed the SAnitY stable, which became the developmental rosters’ version of The Wyatt Family. While the group is doing some decent midcard work, they haven’t caught on in a big way yet. There’s still time for that to happen, but it feels like Young isn’t a high-priority for management.

This may not sit well with some fans, but much like Tye and Itami, Young may never make it to the WWE main roster. That probably sounds like a knock on his ability, but being a mainstay presence in NXT, and having the job of getting other guys over isn’t a bad role to have at all. He'll make money. He'll be on TV, and he'll sell some merchandise. It's a gig that 99% of the wrestling world would kill for.

Official prediction: Young does indeed join Raw in early 2018, but mainly for the purpose of managing Killian Dane and Nikki Cross. He'll wrestle a few matches, but never capture a major title like he did in TNA. When Dane breaks out on his own, Young goes away.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
