Predicting The Future Of 10 NXT Stars
7. Ember Moon
The glory days of the NXT women’s division are long gone. Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks have all been promoted to the main roster, leaving the developmental league depleted. Sure, Asuka is doing great work, but there’s a pretty big drop off after her in the depth chart, with Ember Moon landing in the No. 2 spot.
Adrienne Reese, the former Athena, was signed by WWE in Sept. of 2015. In June of 2016 she made her TV debut and has been given a pretty decent push. However, we still don’t really know what Ember Moon is all about. She has red eyes for some reason, and has a cool finisher, but that’s pretty much everything that’s been revealed. It’s not like there’s some grand mystery that’s being hyped either. Management just gave her a costume and a name and thought that was enough.
Due to Raw and SmackDown both badly needing new women talent to fill in their ranks, Moon will probably be called up not too far off into the future. While she’ll likely be featured in a prominent role when she debuts, it’s hard to imagine her leapfrogging Charlotte/Bayley/Sasha on Raw.
Official prediction: If no major trades go down, expect her to land on SmackDown after WrestleMania 34 and feud with the likes of Natalya and Alexa Bliss. Considering that 11 out of the 18 women listed on the Raw and SmackDown rosters have either held the Divas Title, or the Raw or SmackDown Women's Title (poor Tamina, Summer Rae and Eva Marie...) you can pretty safely assume Ember Moon will capture gold at some point in her career.
