Predicting The Next 10 AEW Stars To Jump Ship To WWE
4. Chris Jericho
There is no single other wrestler in history that has managed to stay as relevant and at the top of their game longer than Chris Jericho. Whenever he feels as though his act is getting stale or the promotion he works for has become stagnant, Jericho reinvents himself and moves on. In the last five years alone, he has gone from the keeper of The List in WWE, to ‘The Painmaker’ in NJPW, to ‘Le Champion’ in AEW.
But now, Jericho has taken a back seat as his career begins to wind down, which is fair enough, but at the end of the day, do you really see the Canadian retiring at an All Out... or at a WrestleMania? After all, he is a self-proclaimed Vince McMahon guy, so we all know where his loyalties lie deep down.
There have been clues to this jump happening in the last year as well, and we aren’t just talking about his landmark appearance on WWE Network’s ‘Broken Skull Sessions’ with Steve Austin, either. Lately ‘The Demo God’ has toned down his verbal jabs at WWE and their ‘stupid ideas by bad creative’ and has had nothing but nice things to say about the Stamford-based promotion.
Chris Jericho clearly wants that WWE Hall of Fame nod and doesn’t want to burn that bridge, so expect Y2J to reinvent himself once again and embark on one final run under WWE contract.
