Predicting The Next 10 First Time Universal Champions
1. Daniel Bryan
Raw's premiere championship is supposed to represent the WWE Universe and, quite frankly, nobody does that better than Daniel Bryan. Originally rising to the main event scene because he was the people's champion, nagging injuries resulted in an incredibly brief run with the WWE World Heavyweight Title before he inevitably had to retire. That is, until he even overcame those odds and was eventually cleared to compete.
Since his return to the ring, he has remained on SmackDown Live, slowly working his way through the mid-card. His program with Big Cass was a total bust while his rivalry with The Miz is being dragged out unnecessarily and milked for everything it's worth, so it's clear that WWE is intentionally keeping him away from the title picture... for now.
Although a WWE Championship run on the blue brand may be in his near-future, it's inevitable that the bigger picture involves the 'Yes Man' returning to the show where his rise to the top took place - and when that happens he will claim the belt that has, unfortunately, become WWE's premiere title: the Universal Championship.
