Predicting The Quality Of All 15 WWE WrestleMania 35 Matches
8. Kurt Angle Vs. Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin posted an incredible tweet over the weekend.
Cutely acknowledging his reputation as a chinlock-applying, colossal bore, he also created a new tagline for the least-anticipated bout in modern WrestleMania history:
AN UNPRECEDENTED 8 STAR MATCH.
This was decent patter, much like Corbin's keen grasp of WWE's favoured disingenuous heel archetype is. The problem is that Corbin is, on Sunday night, going to have to put his phone down and enter the ring...in the opposite corner to a man, once the most dynamite and credible across the globe, who belongs more on the Heroes of Wrestling stage than the Grandest in 2019.
It would be nice, given the length of the card and Angle's dire condition, were he to immediately blast Corbin with a trifecta of Germans before screaming I'm gonna break your freakin' ankle!
But WWE is very aware of Corbin's particular source of heat. He is in all likelihood going to amble about the ring, with an intentional lethargy designed to make us groan, before the happy ending finish.
