This is an ambitious (and possibly foolish) endeavour because imagine predicting the future of pro wrestling in 2016.

Finn Bálor was certain to recuperate from his shoulder injury and resume his destiny as a multi-World Champion headline act. A Bullet Club sub-group self-marketed as 'The Elite' were generating unreal buzz - enough, perhaps, to land Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks in Orlando, Florida. Omega's performance level in the G1 Climax was so incredible that it might one day put him next to a pointing Triple H with the NXT Title hoisted over his shoulder.

A babyface Shane McMahon-led Monday Night RAW reinvigorated a show that drew not inconsiderable critical acclaim (f*cking hell). It was destined to get even better, too, perhaps 2000-level good, since despite the odd mutilated main roster call-up, the NXT roster was so talented and over at a cult level that the future was indeed now, nestled on Vince McMahon's lap, just waiting to be picked up.

That all said: there are worse ways to spend a holiday season that always drags on longer than you remember, and the holier than thou scribblings on this author page have gotten this bold prediction stuff right on occasion...

N.B. This list was compiled using the AllEliteWrestling.com roster page as at 22/11/2021...
