Predicting Where Every AEW Wrestler Will Be In 5 Years' Time
91. Alan Angels
You're not really meant to say this, because the Dark Order are phenomenally endearing and the Alan Angels story is really quite nice, but there's an aloof edge to him. He might do well in an uncharacteristic heel role five years down the line.
Right now, the queue in front of him is too long. Tellingly, as talented as he is, he hasn't quite entered the future 'Pillars' conversation alongside Daniel Garcia, HOOK, and Dante Martin.
Angels is very good at a hybrid kick-pad style that feels increasingly like it belongs in the last decade. A return to the indies might equip him with the knowledge of how to stand out.
90. Alex Reynolds & John Silver
One of the more underrated acts in a promotion overflowing with real talent.
AEW's tag tram division is still market-leading, but certain 2021 developments - the Forbidden Door, free agent signings, bonkers match graphics with Nick Gage and Juventud Guerrera in the foreground - have seen it recede in importance somewhat.
These developments are all very cool, but so is tag team wrestling, and the powder kegs that are the Beaver Boys are right there just waiting to be used.
This is a bold prediction - neither Reynolds nor Silver are featured cast members at time of writing - but the scene will be re-emphasised, and the Beaver Boys, endearing as all hell and over as a result with AEW crowds, will reign atop it after an epic struggle of a chase.
89. Andrade El Idolo
Andrade is an explosive upper midcard killer who doesn't have the intangible main event aura to star at the tippy-top...
...but he thinks that he does.
And why wouldn't he?
He's an ambitious guy, as the best wrestlers often are, but that ambition will likely lead him to satiate his lust for success in AAA as his full-time promotion.
