Predicting WWE's Champions At WrestleMania 34

2. WWE Champion - Jinder Mahal

The WWE Championship reign we thought we’d never see is going to run all the way until WrestleMania 34. Jinder Mahal’s title run has consistently been likened to that of John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield’s back in 2004/5, and for good reason. JBL referred to himself as the ‘Wrestling God’; Mahal is the self-proclaimed ‘Modern Day Maharaja’. Neither man has proved capable of defending the title in an exciting fashion.

John Cena was the man who defeated JBL and ended the former Blackjack’s reign at WrestleMania 21, winning his first world championship in the process. The Face That Runs The Place went on to become the biggest star of a generation (by an absolute mile), and Cena will make history at WrestleMania 34 by winning his 17th world title.

With no real roadblocks in his way between now and April, Jinder’s WWE Championship reign is eventually going to top 300 days. Mahal will survive until New Orleans, but the power of SuperCena will be too much for The Modern Day Maharaja.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
