Similar to Akira Tozawa, Cedric Alexander has had a disappointing beginning to his main roster run.

Alexander toiled in obscurity for months, a callup after WrestleMania 35 who rarely appeared on Raw, save for chasing after the 24/7 Championship. It wasn’t until a July Raw when Shane McMahon plucked a janitor to team with Roman Reigns against Shane and Drew McIntyre that Cedric got noticed. He disguised himself as the janitor and surprised his opponents – yet still lost.

But after that, Alexander got a nice mini-push, defeating McIntyre and Cesaro and battling for the United States Championship against AJ Styles. Since then, however, Alexander has become a JTTS, losing most of his matches, though they’ve been competitive bouts.

Maybe he’ll get another chance to shine in 2020, but man, Cedric went from promising rookie to “just another guy” in a matter of weeks.
