Sorry, fans of the Monster Among Men, but Braun Strowman isn’t controlling the narrative of this list entry.

Braun returned to WWE earlier this month and decimated the tag team division in a head-scratching decision that still ranks as one of the dumbest moves of the Triple H era. He currently appears to be positioned on SmackDown as a challenger to Roman Reigns… because we haven’t seen that fresh matchup before.

To be fair, Strowman was insanely popular with fans and critics alike several years ago, but WWE failed to pull the trigger on him. By the time they did, it was during the empty arena era, and Braun had cooled off considerably. WWE really lost nothing when they released him in mid-2021 because he had fallen so far off.

Bringing Strowman back might seem like a decent move – he’s in tremendous shape and got a great reaction from fans so far – but the prediction here is that the reactions will fade and the bloom will be off the rose before too long. They aren’t going to have him dethrone Roman, so he’ll eventually lose to the Tribal Chief and slide down the card to do something else.

Of course, we’re hoping to be wrong, but considering that Braun’s already just beating up tag teams – which itself is a huge misstep – could say something about Strowman’s positioning.
