WrestleMania title shot: Lost to Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XXVI Another Royal Rumble surprise return that ended in victory but not success at WrestleMania, Edge made it back from an Achilles tendon injury and shocked the crowd. Like Cena, his return and subsequent Rumble win was a huge moment. Unlike Cena, Edge actually got to use his Rumble title shot at WrestleMania, although Chris Jericho managed to pull out the win. It was an odd decision to have Edge return, win the Rumble and lose at Mania, but five days later, Jack Swagger would cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Jericho. Edge would finally capture the WHC before 2010 was done, but four months later, Edges career would end and he would retire as champion.
Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
