28. Lacey Evans

There are few superstars who were more poorly booked in 2022 than Lacey Evans.

After missing more than a year due to pregnancy and giving birth, Evans returned in April via a series of shoot vignettes talking about her real-life struggles, looking to set her up as an earnest face. However, Lacey flipped between face and heel, and between Raw and SmackDown, before finally settling back on the blue brand as a villain.

Evans would then disappear from TV after the regime change, having wrestled just three times on SmackDown – twice in multi-women matches.

Just as the year wound down, WWE began airing new vignettes for Lacey, showing her getting back to her Marine roots and basics, presumably to once again reintroduce her. We’ll see in 2023 if this rebranding holds.
