'Taker's title loss kick-started a chain of events that would see him turn face as he turned his back on partner Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, and given how everyone was still fascinated by him, this resulted in him becoming one of the company's most popular superstars very fast.

His definitive victory over Roberts at WrestleMania was another major feat for a young star, and another ton of squashes on Superstars subsequently led to another high-profile rivalry as 'The Phenom' crossed paths with Kamala. Though the pair's matches weren't all that great, the feud did produce that iconic hearse entrance (at SummerSlam 1992) and an early concept of what would go on to become the Casket Match.

A surprisingly vital year, '92 was pivotal in moulding him into the cornerstone babyface he would eventually become.
