Similar to Roderick Strong, it is still too early to determine how successful Austin Aries' WWE tenure has been thus far compared to other athletes on this list, but if the past year has been any indication, he has only scratched the surface in terms of what he's capable of.

Along with Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe, Aries was regarded as one of the most gifted wrestlers in the world during his time in Ring of Honor from 2004 to 2010, where he held the ROH World Championship on two separate occasions and became the first man to do so.

However, that was far from the pinnacle of his career as he later went on have a widely successful TNA run and reinvigorate himself, later leading him to earning a contract with WWE at the onset of 2016. Mind you, this was the same company who turned him down for a spot on the 2011 season of Tough Enough, but perhaps going to TNA first to prove he could live up to his "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" moniker was the best thing for him.

Aries made an immediate impact in NXT by handing Baron Corbin a rare loss at TakeOver: Dallas, taking Shinsuke Nakamura to the limit at TakeOver: The End, and soundly defeating No Way Jose at TakeOver: Brooklyn 2. He now finds himself on the verge of officially getting called up to the main roster, currently serving as a color commentator for the Cruiserweight division on 205 Live and Raw.
