Ranking Brock Lesnar's 7 UFC Fights From Least To Most Dominant

6. Lesnar vs. Velasquez

This was our original pick for last on the list, but a second viewing bumped it up a spot. When it comes to Brock vs. Cain Velasquez, it's a pretty easy fight to overlook, as Brock was dominated in the end, and it cost him the belt. At the time the bout went down, fans were pretty split on how the fight would go. Cain Velasquez was on the rise in the UFC, a hot prospect with tons of cardio and dominant wrestling. Lesnar also had solid wrestling, and there was the fact that he was a physical freak of nature. Lesnar came out strong, rushing Velasquez and unleashing some knees. He also took Cain down within the first minute of the fight. Cain, however, got back up with ease, so Lesnar pushed him up against the fence. After some stalling, Lesnar slammed him down again, but Cain popped right back up. After that, they broke and engaged on the feet, both fighters swinging, and Brock wound up cut. He wound up taken down himself after that, with Velasquez taking his back. He made it back to his feet, but he was showing signs of considerable damage. He got tagged, slipped during a headlong run across the octagon, and went down hard with Cain on top. After some ground and pound Lesnar did make it up again and tried for a single leg on Velasquez, but wound up tagged again, dropped, and Cain moved in for the kill. The ref waved off the fight with less than a minute to go in the round. It was a clean stoppage, and a clean loss. That said it was a better showing for Lesnar than you might remember. Given that Cain Velasquez is now a two-time heavyweight champion, some of the sting is taken off, because really, Lesnar was beat by the best in the business, and there's no shame in that.
