Ranking Brock Lesnar's Potential Opponents For UFC 200

I'm well aware that Cain Velasquez is already booked on UFC 200 against Travis Browne (no one cares), but that shouldn't matter in this instance. UFC is a business, and if they want to maximize profits by pushing interest in the Lesnar return, this is the man to lock him in the cage with.

With UFC 200 still a little over a month away, Dana White and company should be working whatever magic necessary to switch the names around on the fight card and schedule a rematch between Brock and the man who brought his heavyweight title reign to a violent end. We already know that Mark Hunt has been waiting in the wings should one of the competitors in the Velasquez/Browne match suffer an injury, so put him in there with Browne - a fight that practically guarantees fireworks - and feed Cain's brittle body to the ravenous bear that is Brock Lesnar.

You've got everything you need to sell the bout already in place: History between the two leading to a grudge match where one man returns from another industry to try and avenge the loss he insists would likely never have happened had he not been suffering from a debilitating disease at the time, while the other man tries to halt his faltering descent into irrelevance by silencing his critics with a decisive victory. Velasquez has seen his popularity and status within the UFC do a serious nosedive due to his constant injuries causing him to pull out of fights, and if he was able to get a win here this would put him back on track and raise his stock considerably.

An interesting detail to take note of is that Cain Velasquez and Travis Browne are the only main card fighters not shown in the UFC 200 promo video that revealed the return of Lesnar, which means that they've hardly done anything to promote that fight even taking place. Could that be a hint that plans could be changing? In the words of Ramsay Bolton, "Come and see".

From a business standpoint this one seems like a no-brainer for the UFC, and while I don't think it's the most likely scenario, it's definitely the one that makes the most sense. Get it done, Dana.
