The Rock vs. Mankind from Royal Rumble 1999 will go down as the most gruelling "I Quit" match in WWE history, but not the best; that distinction belongs to Foley vs. Flair from SummerSlam 2006.

Seven years after his brutal bout against Rock, Foley returned to the ring for one final run and contested some of the greatest matches of his career, including against Flair at SummerSlam. Their rivalry stemmed from real-life animosity between the two that lead to a 2-out-of-3 Falls match at Vengeance that was won by Flair.

Following the bout, Foley attacked Flair with a barbed wire bat, signalling that their feud was not yet over. It ended up raging into the summer and was set to culminate with an "I Quit" match at SummerSlam.

Although both legendary icons were in the twilight of their career, they still managed to steal the show with a tremendous display of emotion and storytelling. Flair was never known for being a hardcore competitor, but he took the fight to Foley and proved that he hadn't lost it.

The lame finish that saw Foley give in to prevent Flair from hurting Foley's friend Melina ended the match on a sour note, but everything else that preceded it made for the perfect "I Quit" match.

Which of these "I Quit" matches do you think deserves to be top? Share your thoughts below.
