EC3 returned to Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary. Finally, the fans thought, he was going to be used properly again following his dismal stint in WWE.

Sadly, it just wasn't to be.

'The Essential Character' embroiled in a rivalry with Moose over the TNA World Heavyweight Championship that did nothing to help EC3 in the process. Stealing the TNA title for a couple of months, EC3 ended up losing to 'Mr. Impact Wrestling' in a cinematic clash at Bound For Glory, which was the last we saw of him in his second Impact run. It's a shame he didn't get to do anything else as this new persona of his would fit perfectly in with the current product.
