Ranking Every Randy Orton Vs. Triple H WWE Match Ever
6. WrestleMania 25
Ah, the infamous WrestleMania 25 main event that shouldn't have been a main event at all.
Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania gets a lot of flack from fans even a decade later because of how it was nothing compared to the classic that was The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels from earlier in the evening.
The thing is, no match was going to do well in that top spot coming off such a spectacle. Orton and Triple H had everything working against them before the bout even started, which wasn't their fault whatsoever.
Anywhere else on the card and this would be remembered much more fondly than it is. The two having to abide by the normal rules of a standard singles match hurt its overall flow, but they still told a strong story with Orton pushing Triple H to his absolute limit and Triple H finally exacting revenge on Orton for the months of misery he caused him.
Orton definitely deserved to go over here given the wave of momentum he was riding at the time, but you can't blame WWE for wanting to give HHH his moment in the sun after all the losses he suffered at the Show of Shows in the years preceding this pay-per-view.
