Ranking Every Randy Orton Vs. Triple H WWE Match Ever
Will they be able to produce one of their better bouts to date at Super ShowDown?
Between their very first encounter at Unforgiven 2004 to their latest clash at Super ShowDown 2019, Triple H and Randy Orton have had 15 years worth of matches in WWE.
Their history dates all the way to their days in Evolution when The Game groomed Orton to be the future of the industry. Of course, it wasn't long before Triple H grew jealous of The Legend Killer's singles success and exiled him from the faction, leading to their first of many matchups soon after.
Since then, they have waged war a total of 17 times on pay-per-view and on Raw. Regardless of whether gold has been up for grabs or not, they have never ceased to make their matches extremely personal, especially during their heated feud in 2009.
Not all their outings against each other have been instant classics, however. In fact, most of their matchups together have either fallen flat or failed to live up to the lofty hype. Considering their chemistry isn't the strongest, there's no telling where their upcoming match will rank among their all-time best bouts nine years removed from the last time they went one-on-one.
Until then, though, let's look back at every encounter they've had to date and attempt to rank them from worst to best.
17. Raw - Oct. 30, 2006
After floundering on SmackDown and Raw for the better part of 2006, Randy Orton entered the Raw tag team ranks alongside Edge that fall. It didn't take long for the mischievous duo to target D-Generation X, leading to a match between the two tandems at the Cyber Sunday pay-per-view.
In the weeks preceding the pay-per-view, Orton and Triple H faced off in singles competition on three consecutive episodes of Raw in an effort to build momentum ahead of the event. Of their three matches together (and every bout they've ever had), the third installment in the series was easily the weakest.
It was less of a match and more an angle with Edge interfering to hand Triple H the disqualification victory. The six-minute affair largely consisted of Orton on offense and not doing anything of note. The post-match stuff with Rated-RKO double-teaming Triple H with chairs was actually more entertaining than the outing itself.
