Ranking Every Randy Orton Vs. Triple H WWE Match Ever

10. Raw - Jan. 3, 2005

Randy Orton spent many months chasing Triple H in the final quarter of 2004 after he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to his former mentor at that year's Unforgiven pay-per-view.

It took some time, but he finally received the rematch with Triple H he had long been waiting for on the premiere episode of Raw in 2005. Although the match was on the shorter side, the brevity of the bout actually worked to their advantage. It was an incredibly fun sprint that featured plenty of babyface fire from Orton and there was never a dull moment.

Ever the opportunist, Ric Flair attempted to aid Triple H to victory by sliding him a ring bell through the bottom, and once that happened, chaos ensued. Shawn Michaels stepped in as the new referee when the previous official got knocked out, Batista brawled with Chris Benoit, and Edge and Chris Jericho took each other out (six of those stars were set to clash inside the Elimination Chamber that Sunday).

When the smoke cleared, Orton laid out HHH with an RKO and picked up the (relatively) clean win. It was a major momentum-booster for The Legend Killer, even if he fell short of becoming the world champion at New Year's Revolution.
