A good-not-great match between two of the elite workers of the era, Triple H's run at Kurt Angle's Championship ended in much the same way it had done for other challengers - with the titleholder getting bailed out. Furthermore, a scrap between seconds Stephanie McMahon and Trish Stratus drew far more reactions from an awkwardly bored audience.

'The Game' gobbled up the offence for long stretches against fellow heel Angle, to the point where a Stone Cold Steve Austin's run-in was needed just to reheat the crowd, let alone insitigate a finish.
