Ranking Every Sole Survivor In WWE Survivor Series History
18. Bart Gunn (Survivor Series 1996)
WWE booking seemed to be going out of their way to devise random teams at Survivor Series 1996. Take the opening match, for example, which saw Bart Gunn, Bob Holly, Jesse 'Road Dogg' James, and Aldo Montoya (aka Justin Credible) take on Billy Gunn, Justin Hawk Bradshaw (aka JBL), Salvatore Sincere (aka Tom Brandi), and The Sultan (aka Rikishi).
Looking back at it, this match was nothing more than a collection of failed gimmicks for future superstars of the Attitude Era. There were four future Intercontinental Champions here, plus a future WWE Champion and an ECW Champion.
Bart Gunn would hold none of those championships but he can call himself a sole survivor. He even eliminated his former tag team partner and kayfabe brother Billy to claim victory, which added a little spice to their rivalry. We bet Thanksgiving was awkward at the Gunn household that year.
