Ranking Every TLC Match In WWE History - From Worst To Best

6. CM Punk Vs. Jeff Hardy (SummerSlam 2009)

First TLC Match - SummerSlam

Given Jeff Hardy’s history with TLC matches, it was only fitting that his excellent world title feud with CM Punk in the summer of 2009 would end with a match of that same old stipulation.

Once again, Hardy’s antics straddled the line between spectacular and stupid, though I’ll let you decide which side of the fence he ended up on. The most notable moments included him taking a superplex directly onto a ladder, a missed splash from the top rope to the outside—through a table, to boot—and of course a monstrous Swanton Bomb off of a ladder and through a motionless Punk on the announce table.

Say what you will about his methods, but no one could accuse Jeff Hardy of not laying it all on this line in this one.

There was also time for a post-match Undertaker appearance, bringing down the curtain on a crazy night. Above all that though, perhaps the biggest testament to the quality of this one was the fact that it main evented SummerSlam ahead of John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship—and deservingly so, at that.
