Ranking EVERY WWE Champion From Worst To Best

29. Seth Rollins

WWE Champions Ranked

Unbeaten for the bulk of a year during his first run and not even able to make it to the end of the night with it in tact for the second, Seth Rollins is a model of the modern-day WWE's strange relationship with titles.

A man who's benefited as much from Money In The Bank as much as he's suffered its brutal consequences, Rollins completing the "Heist Of The Century" was an instantly iconic WrestleMania Moment(TM) as 2015's edition climaxed with him swinging his newly-won prize above his head. Injury abbreviated his reign later that year, but it had gone well enough that he was given a hero's welcome upon his return in 2016. Unfortunately - like a long second run - that just wasn't in the cards. He cut an "each and every one of you" missive the next night, and pinned Roman Reigns yet again to become a two-time Champion the next month, but lost it almost immediately to third Shield member Dean Ambrose thanks to another cash-in.

Rollins' quest to be The Guy in WWE has realistically been the story of his entire singles run, but the WWE Championship itself has evaded him ever since. Universal and World Titles weren't exactly second place prizes, but only the gold coating disguised the reality that they were typically silver medals.
