Even though Savio Vega replacing Shawn Michaels in the 'Non-Sanctioned' closer was as unsatisfying a decision as the WWF could've made in 1998, the match itself was still a scream. No Way Out Of Texas also had that fine opener all good pay-per-views need; Taka Michinoku was on fire against Pantera, and Kane vs. Vader turned out better than expected later too.
