Ranking Every WWE NXT WarGames Match From Worst To Best

6. The Undisputed Era vs AOP & Roderick Strong vs Sanity (2017)

NXT Takeover: War Games

NXT made the bold decision to break with the two teams tradition on their very first WarGames, and while the purists may question its credentials on the basis it comprised three teams of three, the swifter entry system meant that the match got underway a lot quicker than other iterations, making this a great introduction for those who didn’t grow up on WCW’s double cage extravaganzas.

In spite of the additional man to consider, this WarGames is more simply laid out than some of the wild bouts to follow. Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong played the power game, Undisputed Era embraced that pack mentality to chip away at their opponents, and Sanity provided the wild card, swinging weapons with abandon.

With NXT’s tag division in rare form, everyone’s out to impress, but special props must go to big Killian Dain who hits a vintage Van Terminator onto O’Reilly, Strong for his customary cardio - he barely needs a minute’s downtime for the entire 35 plus minutes - and Cole for rag-dolling his way through another deadly encounter.

This is such an easy watch and there’s very little not to like, but as far as NXT WarGames goes, we’re just getting started.
