Ranking Every WWE NXT WarGames Match From Worst To Best
5. Pete Dunne, Ricochet & War Raiders vs The Undisputed Era (2018)
A particularly long edition of NXT WarGames, this match highlights the best of the black and gold brand’s 2018 heyday while being slightly stymied by its sheer indulgence. The bout clocks in at close to an hour, and may be a little too choreographed to some viewers’ tastes, with a procession of high spots taking up the back end of the match.
For those who enjoy NXT’s bravura and amazing workrate, though, that’s something to savour, rather than complain about. In one ring we have the fully formed Undisputed Era in their first WarGames as a foursome, and they’re ridiculously good heels, each getting the chance to show off their unique skillset.
In the other ring is one of the best all-star teams in WarGames history. War Raiders show off their freakish athleticism, and Pete Dunne stakes his claim as one of the most natural cage fighters with his grit and brutality. And then there’s Ricochet who gets to do Ricochet things, most notably a double moonsault from the top of the cage.
The storytelling perhaps fades into the background here in favour of bell to bell carnage, but if the excesses of 2018-vintage NXT are to your tastes, it doesn’t get much more gleefully excessive than this.
