Ranking Every WWE Return That’s Already Happened In 2020

Year of the comebacks.

John Morrison The Miz

It's only February and wrestlers are making WWE comebacks left, right and centre.

January's Royal Rumble show plays a big part in this, because WWE enjoy springing a few pleasant surprises on fans during each match. That's a good thing, and it's much more satisfying to see cameo comebacks than it would be to see a 30-man Rumble filled up with guys the promotion blatantly couldn't care less about.

This is a financially good time to return too. WrestleMania is right around the corner in Tampa, lapsed fans are tuning in to see old favourites and WWE are desperate to make sure the first quarter of 2020 sets the tone for the rest of the year. If stars returning from injuries, coming out of retirement or showing back up when needed can help that, then even better.

There is some criteria for this list. Wrestlers included must have been out for longer than a month (no Wellness Policy violations here; sorry, Robert Roode) and they can't have been positioned as non-wrestling characters elsewhere on programming.

That means NXT announcer Beth Phoenix is out, but someone close to her heart definitely counts...
