It'll come as no surprise to those watching at the time that the men's match from 2020 ranks significantly higher than the women's. The ladies didn't exactly stink up the place (not with that roster!), but... well, there are good reasons why most remember the men's bout more fondly. This match had highlights too, being fair. One of them was the emphasis on NXT as a brand.

If you include a commentator like Beth Phoenix and Toni Storm from NXT UK, the third show had 12 representatives in the 2020 women's Rumble. That's almost half the 30! Impressive. WWE was clearly on a mission to make NXT look on par with Raw and SmackDown at the time. Of course, they'd already decided that no-one was ousting Charlotte Flair from the throne.

Charlotte was winning. It was one of 2020's worst-kept secrets.

Flair had even foreshadowed her own success before the pay-per-view. Nothing new there, right? Sure, although fans knew she was telling the truth, and that hurt anticipation slightly. Bianca Belair's 33-minute performance stood out, and so did Beth's 27-minute showing, but this was a match that was always going to belong to Charlotte.
