Chris Jericho's surprise reappearance at #2 in the 2013 Royal Rumble was tragically where the match peaked for intrigue and suspense - nobody knew about his return and equally few expected him to put in an iron man shift.

'Y2J' and #1 entrant Dolph Ziggler both went just under 50 minutes in the match, offering themselves up as the only other potential winners underneath heavy, heavy favourite John Cena. A gripping CM Punk/Rock programme clouded the title picture, but the man occupying the WrestleMania challenger spot was the safest bet in years.
