Ranking EVERY WWE Royal Rumble Match From Worst To Best
24. 2023 (Women)
Far from the crowning glory of Triple H’s first few months in WWE’s top job, his maiden women’s Royal Rumble was mostly a bust bar Rhea Ripley’s booking and passing flourishes for a select few others.
The contest spoke to ‘The Game’s failures to book a division in place of simply restocking it.
It was to his credit that the match didn’t require a raft of cameos and special guests due to a criminally low quantity of full-timers, but a noticeable lack of character development for the vast majority resulted in lots of dead space and underwhelming entrances. It was botchy throughout, too, making it all the harder for fans to get behind a possible winner when so many worked and acted like the opposite.
Extending to the production, Nia Jax’s surprise return was blown by a rare snafu with the countdown buttons, and while a strong finishing sequence with Ripley, Liv Morgan and Asuka was the highlight of the whole match, 60 decent seconds didn’t really make up for the 3603 mid ones that came before them.
