Sometimes, one good idea is enough, but the first (and ultimately cursed) men’s Rumble of the 2020’s overflowed with them to such an extent that a genuinely risible 2019 main roster product somehow looked confined to the distant past.

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar deciding that nobody was on his level and he'd win the match from the #1 spot was as inspired as it was hilarious. Goofs fell short, surprise returns couldn't compete, beloved babyfaces came close-but-no-cigar, and Drew McIntyre was instantly made when he Claymore'd him out of action at the halfway point.

With that classic chapter concluded, the match could have settled into a familiar groove, but instead will forever be remembered for the epic return of a familiar face - Edge's comeback was yet another case of wrestlers defying the impossible. McIntyre seeing through his double promise of dumping Brock and securing the WrestleMania main event.
