When SmackDown first burst onto our screens in September 1999, WWE did everything they could to ensure that it had its own unique look. With a blue intro, blue ropes and a blue title card, the blue brand was officially born. However, the one thing that really helped it stand out was its unique staging design. Up to this point, WWE wasn't exactly renowned for going all out for its weekly shows, but SmackDown's debut changed everything.

Giving a whole new meaning to the word TitanTron, the original SmackDown stage was nothing short of majestic. With a gigantic blue star-shaped drape in the background, it consisted of five large half-ovals, each one belittling the one underneath it as they collectively surrounded the entrance area. The smallest of them featured a screen which always displayed the show's title card graphic. If that wasn't enough, there was also a much larger, oval-shaped screen off to the right.

Without a doubt, one of WWE's most beautiful stages, the legendary Attitude Era design helped put SmackDown on the map and, to this day, it has been almost impossible for them to come up with anything superior. Almost...
