15. Kurt Angle Vs Stone Cold Steve Austin (October 8, 2001)

A not-fantastic match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle fell below their standard for the year, trapped as it was in the grottiest section of the badly botched Invasion angle.

Angle had defeated 'The Rattlesnake' as part of the company's attempt to make everybody feel a little better after the September 11th terrorist attacks, but surrendered the title here in order to inform a William Regal defection to the Alliance. All of about a month before the Olympian followed suit. The wrestlers were over, but so were the glory days.
