Ranking Every WWE WrestleMania Mixed Tag Match From Worst To Best
6. Dusty Rhodes & Sapphire Vs. Randy Savage & Queen Sherri (WrestleMania VI)
WrestleMania's first-ever inter-gender tag team match went down all the way back in 1990, a two-on-two bout contested by the teams of Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire, and Randy Savage and Queen Sherri.
You can immediately see the problem here. While Rhodes, Savage and Sherri - the latter of whom, while later known as manager, was accomplished in the ring - are perfectly decent performers, the match's fourth wheel was an enormous unknown quantity, making her maiden WWE excursion at the age of 55.
Another issue was that much of the occasion centred on not the performers inside the squared circle, but the one on the outside of it - namely Miss Elizabeth, who still had an axe to grind with The Macho Man after all that business with Hulk Hogan from the previous year's event.
As a consequence, it wasn't a particularly compelling spectacle, and worse than that, it felt like a bit of a waste of Rhodes, whose cringe-inducing polka dot gimmick saw that he would never be taken seriously as a top-level competitor while employed by Vince McMahon.
