By early 1996 the shackles of the undead gimmick had begun to loosen for The Undertaker, allowing him to do a little more in the ring than the usual stalk-his-opponent-into-oblivion shtick, and this thankfully coincided with the one time he was paired with a big man that he could actually work with.

'Taker and Diesel's war at WrestleMania XII may not have been a technical masterpiece, but it had far more layers to it than the typical monster vs. monster match-up of the time - something that was complemented by the fact that the aggressor for most of the match was actually 'Big Daddy Cool'. Thus, for the first time ever, we saw a vulnerable more-human Undertaker who looked like he actually might lose on the Grandest Stage of Them All. And that ultimately set the stage for the typical 'Deadman' comeback that we still see to this day.

The pair had a surprising amount of in-ring chemistry and delivered what was, at the time, the most physically impressive and all-round entertaining big man match - and neither one of them gets enough credit for defying the odds here.
