5. Survivor Series 1996
Another Buried Alive match, another death for The Undertaker. This time it was Mankind - with a little help from his friends - who put 'Taker into the ground at an In Your House event in October 1996, keeping the 'Deadman' off our screens for, well, just a month (but who are we to question how these things work?).
His return came in November at Survivor Series, where he took on Mankind in what was a run-of-the-mill wrestling match, save for the fact that Paul Bearer was suspended 20 feet above the ring in a shark cage.
In the end, the 'Deadman' got his revenge in the form of a pinfall victory, but dastardly Bearer ultimately escaped without reprisal courtesy of yet more interference. These are the situations your magical powers were made for, big man.
