As retirement matches go, this is the greatest. Of course, Ric Flair's was more of a tear jerker, but this was an utter wrestling clinic. A year after trying to end the Streak and failing, Shawn Michaels became obsessed with breaking it even though his best friend Triple H didn't think he could. He tried in vain to win the Royal Rumble so he could go on to face the then World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker at Mania to claim revenge. When that didnt work, he cost Taker the championship at the Elimination Chamber. The seeds had been sewn. After losing the championship, The Undertaker agreed to face Shawn one last time but only if it was a Streak v Career match, which HBK emphatically accepted. There's not too much to be said for this match apart from it is arguably the greatest wrestling match of all time. A HUGE claim, but one that needs to be made. Michaels picked the correct opponent to bring his career to a close. He was the 'Showstoppaaa' till the very end.
