This was a glorified squash match which put Taker over no ends. Snuka could only manage a couple of strikes of his own in the entire bout which lasted less than five minutes and showcased the rapid rise The Deadman was on at the time. It was the classic meeting where the new star cripples the weary veteran, Snuka was approaching 47 at the time. There was no major story line which made the entire set up for Taker's benefit only. Its main significance is down to the fact that it opened the streak, an undefeated run as we all know that would stand for over 23 years and 21 Taker Mania wins. At the end of the day, seeing a legend of Snuka's stature being completely annihilated by someone as young in their WWE career as Taker was back then is pretty cool.
