Sheamus' cash-in on Roman Reigns following his WWE Championship victory was supposed to mirror the same thing happening to Daniel Bryan in 2013.

It failed to mirror the moment because a) fans had profoundly rejected 'The Big Dog' in the spot for nearly a year and b) It was apparent WWE were determined to keep on with it, unlike what original fate awaited the beloved Bryan.

The rest of the show sucked too. The Brothers Of Destruction crushed The Wyatt Family, and a 5-on-5 match was as much a toast to the company's failings of the midcard rather toasting the period's successes.
