Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship run was littered with miserable defences masquerading as pay-per-view main events, and Battleground offered up the most egregious of the lot.

A Punjabi Prison match had no right to be as boring as 'The Modern Day Maharaja's with Randy Orton was, especially with the card in desperate need of some joy after yet another crushing defeat for Rusev by John Cena and a crushingly disappointing bout between AJ Styles and Kevin Owens.
