Ranking What Was Really The Best Wrestling Entrance Every Year 1990-2021

13. 2009 - Shawn Michaels, WWE WrestleMania 25

Austin Omega
WWE

The whole darkness versus light deal didn't inform the match at WrestleMania itself - if anything, Shawn's hair-clutching desperation to win via count-out positioned him as the heel in an epic back-and-forth big-move match - but it made for sublime, quintessential WWE aesthetics, regardless.

Perhaps the story was in Shawn's growing frustration and his slow abandonment of his pious attitude, but whatever: this was a majestic entrance that captured the performer perfectly: a major star capable of stopping the show, and one that very much knew this to irresistibly cheeky effect.

Visually stunning with strong psychology: the entrance mirrored the man.
