Triple H Chris Jericho Judgement Day 2002 HEll in a Cell

The Good

Not a bad show at all, this. The best match of the night was Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle's 2/3 falls match (first fall regular match, second fall submission rules and third fall ladder) which, at almost half an hour in length, never felt like it outstayed its welcome, such was the talent of both men.

Benoit returned later in the evening, putting in another shift alongside Chris Jericho in the WWE Tag Team Title Tag Team Turmoil match. The Calgary Kids got the surprise win after beating Edge and Christian in the best match of the series.

In the main event, a resurgent Steve Austin had a good brawl with The Undertaker, which was replete with all the Attitude Era shenanigans you'd expect (liberal amounts of interference, fighting in the crowd etc.). The other half of the Two Man Power Trip, Triple H, lost to Kane in an entertaining Chain Match earlier in the show. The Big Red Machine received a sizeable pop when he pinned the dastardly Cerebral Assassin.

The Big Show Vs. Rhyno Vs. Test for the Hardcore Title was also a lot of fun. The Man Beast really did wonders for that belt, but his larger opponents were game here as well.

The Bad

Nothing really terrible, but Lita should have been given more in her Women's Title challenge of Chyna. The Ninth Wonder of the World would be gone from the company soon after, as WWE could never convince her to compete regularly with the women.

The Rest

Jerry Lynn cut one of the lamest 'shoot' promos ever on this show. Speaking live from WWF New York, the Light-heavyweight Champion expressed his bitterness with not being featured and seemed to blame commentator/head of talent relations JR for his plight.

It was going OK before he signed off with an unintentionally hilarious death metal grunt...
